Exploring Tinubu’s Innovative Use of AI for Security Solutions: Insights from Jimoh Ibrahim
Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South Senatorial District, has announced that President Bola Tinubu plans to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) to address Nigeria’s security challenges in 2025.
During an interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Ibrahim highlighted that the 2025 budget allocates approximately ₦5 trillion to defense and security.
He emphasized that this investment aims to integrate advanced technology into security operations, including the development of AI-driven applications for security personnel.
Ibrahim stated, “He is likely to develop an app that police, army would use – 2025 will be the worst year for criminals. He will use AI, distil it to security personnel to make your life comfortable.”
He also noted improvements in Nigeria’s security landscape, mentioning that no city or local government area is currently under the control of insurgent groups like Boko Haram.
Ibrahim attributed this progress to the efforts of the military and police, suggesting that further technological integration could enhance these gains.
The senator expressed optimism that increased security would lead to economic benefits, particularly in the oil sector, by enabling safer and more efficient production.
