Major Drug Bust: Nigerian Woman Arrested in India with 12kg Narcotics
A 40-year-old Nigerian woman, identified as Roselime Oluchi Ikeoha, was arrested in Bengaluru, India, for allegedly operating a drug racket. Authorities seized 12 kilograms of MDMA crystals, a party drug commonly known as ecstasy, valued at approximately ₹24 crore (about ₦13 million).
Roselime had entered India on a business visa five years ago and had been residing in Bengaluru’s TC Palya area, where she ran a grocery shop. Investigators allege that the shop served as a front for her drug peddling activities.
During the raid, officials also recovered 70 SIM cards registered under different names, suggesting a complex network of communications related to the drug trade.
The Bengaluru police are now focusing on identifying her suppliers and uncovering connections to other individuals involved in the drug network, including a woman based in Mumbai.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Foreigners Act.
This seizure is considered one of the largest in Bengaluru and Karnataka, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by Indian authorities in combating drug trafficking networks.
