Budget 2025: How Tinubu and Shettima’s Travel Costs Reach N9.4bn

In the recently presented 2025 Appropriation Bill, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima have allocated a combined total of approximately ₦9.36 billion for travel and refreshments.

Breakdown of Allocations:

  • President Tinubu:
    • International Travels: ₦6.14 billion
    • Local Travels: ₦873.9 million
    • Refreshments and Meals: ₦431.6 million
  • Vice President Shettima:
    • International Travels: ₦1.31 billion
    • Local Travels: ₦417.5 million
    • Refreshments and Meals: ₦186.02 million

These allocations are part of the larger ₦49.7 trillion budget proposal for 2025, titled ‘Restoration Budget, Securing Peace and Building Prosperity,’ which was presented to the National Assembly on December 18, 2024.
