Drug Trafficking Verdict: Nigerians Get 40-Year Sentence in US Court
A U.S.-based Nigerian, Oluwole Adegboruwa, aged 54, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for masterminding a multi-million dollar dark web drug trafficking operation.
His accomplice, Emmanuel Isong, received a 10-year sentence in October 2024, bringing their combined prison terms to 40 years.
Between October 2016 and May 2019, Adegboruwa sold and distributed approximately 300,000 oxycodone pills, generating around $9 million from these illegal activities.
In addition to his prison sentence, he has been ordered to forfeit over $20 million, marking one of the largest financial forfeitures in the history of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah.
