Financial Scandal: Earl Thomas’ Estranged Wife Charged with Fraud
Nina Thomas, the estranged wife of former NFL star Earl Thomas, has been charged with multiple offenses, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and aggravated identity theft.
Authorities allege that she, along with an unidentified accomplice, illegally transferred over $2.7 million from Earl Thomas’s accounts into their own.
The misappropriated funds were reportedly used for personal luxuries, such as breast implants and a Hermès Birkin handbag.
Nina Thomas was arrested on December 16, 2024, following the issuance of an arrest warrant on December 13. She has since been released but faces serious legal consequences.
This incident adds to a series of tumultuous events between the former couple. In 2020, Nina filed for divorce after an altercation where she allegedly held Earl at gunpoint upon discovering him with other individuals.
Subsequently, in 2021, she obtained a restraining order against him following allegations of assault.
Additionally, in 2023, Nina’s then-boyfriend, Kevin J. Thompson, was arrested for allegedly stealing Earl Thomas’s identity in a $1.9 million scam, involving the cashing of NFL checks and unauthorized access to bank accounts.
Earl Thomas, a former safety known for his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens, has been out of the NFL since 2019.
His career ended abruptly in 2020 when the Ravens terminated his contract due to conduct detrimental to the team.
