Efe Money Arrested: Delta Police Expose Disturbing Murder Case with Herbalist Involvement
The Delta State Police Command has arrested four individuals in connection with the gruesome murder of Paulinus Okon, who was beheaded in Otokutu, Delta State.
The suspects include Efe Onoetiyi, the victim’s close friend; Okeimute Gaga; Sunday Ikpeba; and a herbalist named Lawrence Joseph.
According to the police, Mr. Onoetiyi convinced Mr. Okon to entrust him with ₦30 million to purchase a property. Instead of completing the transaction, Mr. Onoetiyi allegedly misappropriated the funds for personal use, acquiring land and constructing a duplex.
Fearing exposure, Mr. Onoetiyi reportedly conspired with the other suspects to eliminate Mr. Okon. They lured him to a secluded area near Orere River, where he was tied to a stake and beheaded while still alive. His body was disposed of in the river, and his head was buried at Mr. Joseph’s shrine in Otokutu.
After the murder, Mr. Onoetiyi deceived Mr. Okon’s family into believing he had been kidnapped, extorting an additional ₦20.7 million as ransom.
The police have recovered the victim’s skull from the shrine and are preparing charges against the suspects. They urge the public to exercise caution in their associations and remain vigilant against such betrayals.
