Be Patient with Tinubu: Omo-Agege’s Call for Unity and Perseverance
Former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has called on Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that recent economic reforms, though challenging, are designed to foster long-term growth and stability.
In his Christmas message, Omo-Agege acknowledged the hardships resulting from policies such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the naira’s multiple exchange rates.
He noted that these measures aim to rectify decades of economic mismanagement and transition Nigeria towards a self-sufficient, productive economy.
He highlighted early positive outcomes, including improved growth rates, reduced imports, increased exports, higher incomes for farmers, and greater allocations to state and local governments.
Omo-Agege urged citizens to support the administration’s efforts, stating that with perseverance and collective backing, Nigeria can overcome current challenges and emerge more resilient and prosperous.
Additionally, he appealed to the Delta State government to address issues such as poor infrastructure, insecurity, inadequate healthcare, and the neglect of the agricultural sector, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in fund allocation.
Omo-Agege’s message aligns with President Tinubu’s recent call for unity and reflection during the Christmas celebrations, where the President urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders and the nation’s troops.
