Gas Cylinder Blast Claims Life, Injures Three in Niger State
On December 25, 2024, a gas cylinder explosion at a vulcanizing shop in the Kpakungu area of Minna, Niger State, resulted in the death of one apprentice and injuries to three others.
The incident occurred around 1:00 PM when the vulcanizer, identified as Mohammed, was working with his apprentices. The explosion caused significant damage to the shop and nearby structures.
The deceased apprentice, Haji, died at the scene, while the vulcanizer, his son, and another apprentice sustained severe injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the incident and is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
The police have urged residents to adhere to safety guidelines when handling gas cylinders to prevent such tragedies.
