Suspected Kidnapper Apprehended by Anambra Police: Latest Updates
The Anambra State Police Command has recently apprehended two individuals on charges related to kidnapping and armed robbery.
Arrest of Pablo Mamu
On December 23, 2024, a joint security operation led to the arrest of 38-year-old Pablo Mamu, a native of Ughelli, Delta State. Mamu was operating in communities within the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. Authorities recovered a pump-action shotgun and 20 live cartridges from him. He is currently in custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
Arrest of Chukwuma Obi
In a separate incident, 32-year-old Chukwuma Obi from Umuagu Village, Igboukwu, Aguata Local Government Area, was arrested for attempted kidnapping and extortion. Obi allegedly demanded a ransom of ₦1.2 million from a resident, threatening abduction if the sum was not paid. The police intervened promptly, leading to his arrest.
