Tinubu’s Unpopular Policy: A Call for Change by Governor Bala Mohammed
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed strong opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s tax reforms, describing them as unfair to northern Nigeria and a threat to national unity.
He emphasized that the policies appear to favor specific regions, leaving the North at a disadvantage.
Governor Mohammed urged the federal government to reconsider these reforms, warning that ignoring the concerns of the northern populace could lead to unrest. He stated, “If you ignore the cries of the people, you are inviting anarchy.”
He further criticized the government’s approach, suggesting that policies should not be imposed without considering the welfare of all Nigerians.
He remarked, “This is a democracy, not a dictatorship or an oligarchy. Policies should never be imposed on the people without considering their welfare.”
Governor Mohammed’s comments reflect ongoing tensions between the federal government and certain regional leaders regarding the implementation and impact of the tax reforms.
