Shehu Sani Refutes Niger President Tchiani’s Allegations Against Tinubu
Former Nigerian senator Shehu Sani has dismissed claims made by Niger Republic’s President, Abdourahamane Tchiani, against Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as baseless.
Sani, a well-known activist and politician, criticized Tchiani’s allegations, describing them as unfounded and an attempt to divert attention from internal issues within Niger.
While the specifics of Tchiani’s claims were not detailed, they are believed to be linked to regional political tensions and Nigeria’s stance on restoring democratic governance in Niger following the July 2023 coup that ousted President Mohamed Bazoum.
Sani emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to diplomacy and stability in the region, urging Niger’s leadership to focus on addressing its governance challenges instead of making unsubstantiated accusations against Tinubu, who also chairs the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
