Hudson Meek, ‘Baby Driver’ Actor, Dies After Tragic Fall from Vehicle
Hudson Joseph Meek, a 16-year-old actor known for his role in the 2017 film Baby Driver, tragically passed away on December 21, 2024, after falling from a moving vehicle in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. The incident occurred on December 19, and Meek succumbed to his injuries two days later.
Meek portrayed the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character in Baby Driver and had roles in other projects, including the film 90 Minutes in Heaven and the television series MacGyver. He was also involved in the 2024 film The School Duel.
Beyond his acting career, Meek was a high school sophomore active in student government, honor choir, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was also a football player and an avid supporter of the Auburn Tigers.
The Vestavia Hills Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Authorities have indicated that there are no signs of foul play, and the incident is being treated as an accident.
In the wake of his passing, Meek’s family has expressed profound grief and announced plans to establish the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship, which will be awarded annually to a Vestavia Hills High School student.
