Strategic Victory: Manore and Dogo Nahalle Neutralized in Katsina Operation
In a significant operation, troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma have dismantled multiple terrorist camps around Bichi Hill in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State. This offensive led to the neutralization of notorious terrorist kingpins Manore and Dogo Nahalle.
The operation was initiated following credible intelligence reports indicating increased terrorist activities in the area, which had resulted in attacks on local communities in Danmusa, Safana, and Kankara LGAs on December 19, 2024. The combined ground and air assault targeted identified camps, aiming to dismantle the terrorists’ operations and restore peace to the affected regions.
The Air Component executed precision strikes on terrorist positions, causing significant damage. Despite the airstrikes, some surviving terrorists attempted to regroup near Bichi Hill, leading to a prolonged firefight with ground troops. The superior firepower of the troops ultimately overpowered the terrorists. Fleeing terrorists on motorcycles were tracked and neutralized by additional airstrikes.
Local sources reported that the operation inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists, including the elimination of key figures such as Manore and Dogo Nahalle. Several terrorist camps were dismantled, significantly undermining the group’s operational capabilities. Communities in Maidabino, Yantumaki, Mara, and other parts of Danmusa and Safana LGAs, previously under persistent threat, are expected to experience improved security following the operation.
The Joint Task Force has reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and ensuring the safety of all residents, urging the public to avoid offering refuge or support to criminal elements. The Theatre Commander, Major General Oluyinka Olalekan Soyele, expressed resolve to combat terrorism and all forms of crime in the Northwest Zone and Niger State, aiming to ensure peace and security in the affected communities.
