Bauchi Police Crackdown: 15 Apprehended in Criminal Syndicate Operation
The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended 15 individuals suspected of involvement in theft, housebreaking, and burglary during a security operation conducted over the festive season.
The operation, led by the GRA Divisional Police Headquarters under CSP Holman Simon, successfully thwarted an attempted burglary in the Wuntin Dada area on December 25, 2024. The suspects, upon noticing police presence, attempted to flee but were promptly pursued and arrested.
The arrested individuals, all residents of Wuntin Dada, are:

- Sadik Inuwa (20)
- Ukasha Saleh (20)
- Abba Musa (18)
- Abdulrashid Ismail (18)
- Ya’u Abubakar (18)
- Mustapha Musa (18)
- Yunusa Abubakar (18)
- Ukasha Abubakar (19)
- Ya’u Usman (19)
- Iliyasu Shehu (20)
- Sani Ya’u (20)
- Moh’d Suleman (23)
- Idris Halisu (18)
Recovered items include eight assorted knives, two electric stabilizers, two car batteries, cartons of beverages, household items such as pillows and mattresses, prayer mats, cooking pots, and other goods suspected to be stolen.
Additionally, a 14-year-old suspect, Usman Ali, was arrested following credible intelligence. Ali allegedly sought employment in Magama Gumau before breaking into a mobile phone shop and stealing 18 phones. The stolen phones were recovered and returned to the shop owner after Ali’s apprehension in Bauchi.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, praised the proactive cooperation of the community and emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving a crime-free society. He reiterated his commitment to maintaining the safety and security of Bauchi residents and assured that all suspects would face appropriate legal proceedings.
