Analyzing Sule Lamido’s Claims Against Tinubu: Selfishness and Dishonesty
Former Jigawa State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for a lack of transparency and reliance on propaganda.
In an interview with the BBC Hausa program ‘Gane Mini Hanya’, Lamido accused both the current and previous administrations of misleading Nigerians about the nation’s true state of affairs.
Lamido expressed particular concern over President Tinubu’s recent loan requests, questioning the rationale behind seeking additional funds despite claims of a budget surplus.
He stated, “If Nigerians are being told the truth then there is nothing wrong with that, but how would you budget N30tn, generate N50tn and then request loan when you have a surplus of N20tn.”
Furthermore, Lamido criticized President Tinubu’s decision to take a two-week vacation abroad, describing it as insensitive to the suffering of Nigerians facing economic hardships. He remarked, “This kind of recklessness is unheard of in any serious country.”
These statements reflect Lamido’s broader concerns about the direction of governance under the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the party of turning governance into propaganda and failing to address the country’s challenges transparently.
