Ekiti Crime News: Trio Caught for Alleged Phone Thefts
The Ekiti State Command of the Western Nigeria Security Network, known as Amotekun Corps, has apprehended three individuals suspected of involvement in phone thefts in Oye Ekiti, the headquarters of Oye Local Government Area.
The primary suspect, a 19-year-old identified as Samuel, was arrested following reports of phone snatching in the area.
During interrogation, Samuel confessed to his involvement in the thefts and implicated two accomplices: 20-year-old Sanusi Garuba and another individual named Tosin. He claimed that Tosin had introduced him to the criminal activities.
Amotekun operatives subsequently arrested Garuba and Tosin in the same locality. All three suspects have been handed over to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Oye Ekiti for further investigation and potential prosecution.
The Head of Communications for Ekiti Amotekun Corps, Abiodun Adeleye, reiterated the agency’s commitment to eradicating criminal activities in the state under the leadership of its Corps Commander, Brigadier General Olu Adewa (rtd).
Adeleye emphasized that the Corps remains dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of residents across Ekiti State.
