Judicial Order: DSS to Release Miyetti Allah President Once More
On December 30, 2024, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja ordered the release of Bello Bodejo, president of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Justice Mohammed Zubairu ruled that Bodejo’s detention since December 9, 2024, without being charged to court, was unlawful. The court granted the application for habeas corpus filed by Bodejo’s counsel, Reuben Atabo, SAN, and directed his immediate release.
Bodejo was arrested on December 9, 2024, by officers of the 117 Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Maliya, Nasarawa State, over an incident involving herders and a retired army general in the Tudun Wada area of Nasarawa. His family reported his arrest and subsequent detention by the DSS.
