Shocking Incident: Suspected Cultists Accused in Delta Community Killing
On December 31, 2024, a tragic incident unfolded in Abbi, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, where 20-year-old Oyeme Eguari was fatally shot by suspected members of the Vikings Confraternity.
The attack took place at a beer parlour near Ejakita Street during the New Year’s Eve celebrations, casting a shadow over the community’s festivities.
Community sources have expressed deep concern over the activities of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity in Abbi town, alleging their involvement in various violent crimes, including armed robbery, murder, and drug trafficking.
They are calling on the Delta State government and human rights organizations to intervene and address the escalating violence to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
The Delta State Police Command, through its spokesperson, Bright Edafe, has confirmed the incident. While specific details about the ongoing investigation have not been disclosed, the police assure the public of their commitment to apprehending those responsible and restoring peace in the area.
This incident is part of a concerning pattern of cult-related violence in Delta State. In November 2024, a man identified as Justice Onyekachukwu Elimani was killed by suspected cultists in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, just a day before his traditional wedding.
