Kano Police Arrest Elderly Man for Alleged Ritual Involving Baby’s Eyes
An elderly man, identified as Malam Yahaya from the Utoro community in Kano State, Nigeria, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to use a baby’s eyes for ritual purposes. T
he arrest followed the apprehension of a 25-year-old man, Kabir Sani, who claimed that Yahaya had hypnotized him and instructed him to abduct a child and remove the eyes for a ritual intended to make a soldier invisible.
Sani reported that after visiting Yahaya for treatment, he was given substances that impaired his judgment, leading him to comply with Yahaya’s demands.
He confessed to attempting to abduct an 8-month-old child but ultimately failed. Sani then informed his sister about the situation, which led to the involvement of the authorities.
Upon investigation, police officers from the Bompai Police Station discovered various ritualistic items at Yahaya’s residence, including a calabash with inscriptions, white and red clothing, and charms. The Kano State Police Command has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
