Kaduna Crisis: Bandits Torch Church and Homes in Violent Raid
On January 1, 2025, suspected bandits attacked Unguwar Rogo in Ugom community, Maro Ward, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The assailants vandalized properties, stole various farm products, and set ablaze six houses along with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in the area. Residents fled into the bushes to escape the violence, abandoning their belongings.
This incident is part of a series of attacks in Kaduna State, where bandits have targeted communities, leading to loss of lives and destruction of properties.
In a previous attack, bandits killed five people and burned a church and houses in Chikun and Igabi councils of the state.
The Nigerian bandit conflict has been ongoing, with various communities in northern Nigeria experiencing similar attacks. The situation has led to significant displacement and insecurity in the affected regions.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna Command, for comments on the recent attack were unsuccessful, as calls and text messages went unanswered.
