Travel to Ghana Made Easier: No Visa Required for African Nationals
Ghana has announced that, starting in early 2025, citizens of all African countries will be able to enter Ghana without a visa.
This policy, approved by President Nana Akufo-Addo in December 2024, aims to strengthen ties across Africa and promote tourism, trade, and travel to the West African nation.
Prior to this change, Ghana allowed visa-free access to nationals of 26 African countries and provided visas on arrival for citizens of 25 others, with only travelers from two African nations requiring a visa before visiting.
With this new policy, Ghana joins Rwanda, the Seychelles, the Gambia, and Benin in allowing visa-free entry to all African passport holders.
This initiative is expected to enhance economic and cultural integration within the continent, aligning with broader efforts to facilitate freedom of movement and strengthen pan-African unity.
