Suspected Burglar Caught in Ogun: Police Make Crucial Arrest
The Ogun State Police Command has recently apprehended several individuals in connection with burglary and theft incidents across the state.
Arrest of 27-Year-Old Suspected Burglar
On January 3, 2025, police operatives arrested a 27-year-old man, David Adediji, for allegedly breaking into a residence and stealing valuables. The arrest was made following a report by the homeowner, leading to Adediji’s capture and the recovery of the stolen items.
Two Suspects Arrested for Burglary and Cable Theft
In a separate operation, the command arrested two individuals involved in burglary and cable theft. One suspect, Sadiq Adebayo, was caught dismantling burglary proofs from an uncompleted building in the Imutu Ayanre community.
He confessed to selling the stolen items to a scrap dealer, who was also apprehended. Additionally, another suspect, Adekoya Odunowo, was arrested for stealing electric wires and weight moulders from block industries along the Ilisan-Ago-Iwoye expressway. The stolen items have been recovered, and the suspects are under investigation.
Rescue of Suspected Robber from Mob Attack
The command also rescued a 21-year-old suspected robber, Adebayo Okokiola, from a mob attack in the Awowo area of Ewekoro Local Government Area. Okokiola allegedly attacked a Point of Sale (PoS) operator, attempting to strangle her before stealing her purse containing ₦100,000.
He was apprehended by residents while fleeing the scene. The police intervened, rescuing him from the mob, and recovered multiple SIM cards and ATM cards in his possession. Investigations are ongoing.
