Ghana’s Political Tensions Rise: Lawmaker Labels Akufo-Addo’s Rule as Worst
Following President Nana Akufo-Addo’s final State of the Nation Address on January 3, 2025, Ghanaian lawmaker Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah criticized the administration’s performance, labeling it “the worst government in the Fourth Republic.”
He cited economic hardships, high youth unemployment, and significant national debt as evidence of the government’s failures.
Armah-Kofi Buah also criticized the president for reckless borrowing and mismanagement of state funds, particularly regarding the controversial National Cathedral project.
In response, President Akufo-Addo outlined various intervention programs and policies implemented during his tenure, expressing hope for continued progress under the incoming administration.
