Legal Battle: Speed Darlington’s Lawyer vs. Burna Boy in Cubana Chiefpriest Case
Stan Alieke, the legal representative for Nigerian artist Speed Darlington, has publicly challenged fellow musician Burna Boy to take legal action against socialite Cubana Chief Priest.
This challenge arises after Chief Priest made comments involving the “Diddy and baby oil” banter, similar to those that previously led to Speed Darlington’s arrest.
In October 2024, Speed Darlington was arrested following a video in which he insinuated that Burna Boy’s Grammy win was due to his close ties with music mogul Diddy.
Alieke now questions why Burna Boy has not pursued similar legal action against Cubana Chief Priest, who recently made comparable remarks. He suggests that if Burna Boy does not act consistently, it could imply selective enforcement of legal actions.
This situation has sparked discussions within the Nigerian entertainment industry about the use of legal measures in personal disputes and the implications for freedom of expression among artists and public figures.
