Cubana ChiefPriest Faces Backlash: Brother’s $30k Gift from BurnaBoy Seen as Insult
Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy recently fulfilled his promise by gifting $30,000 to a man who had been identified online as the younger brother of Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest.
This act of generosity followed a social media exchange between Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest, during which the man, a phone repairer, claimed to be struggling despite his alleged familial connection to the affluent nightlife mogul.
In response to Burna Boy’s gesture, Cubana Chief Priest clarified that the individual in question is not his biological brother. He stated, “I have only one biological big brother & two kid sisters. They ain’t doing so bad.”
He further emphasized that he is not obligated to support his siblings financially, adding, “Regardless, I owe them nothing, na my money, make everybody find their own.”
This incident has sparked discussions online, with some Nigerians taunting Cubana Chief Priest, suggesting that another man’s assistance to his alleged brother is a “lifetime insult.”
The situation has also led to debates about familial responsibilities and the authenticity of the man’s claims.
