Navy Steps In: Incredible Rescue of Capsized Boat Victims in Bayelsa
On December 24, 2024, a speedboat carrying eight police officers and one civilian capsized near Agbura community in Bayelsa State after striking a submerged wreck. The Nigerian Navy promptly conducted a search and rescue operation, successfully rescuing all nine individuals.
The survivors received first aid and were transferred to the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa for further treatment. Additionally, three police rifles were recovered and secured for proper handover to the Bayelsa State Police Command.
