Exciting News for Corps Members: NYSC DG Confirms N77,000 Monthly Allowance
The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that corps members will soon begin receiving an increased monthly allowance of ₦77,000. This adjustment aims to enhance the welfare of corps members and align their stipends with the national minimum wage.
Currently, corps members receive ₦33,000 monthly, despite the national minimum wage being raised to ₦70,000 in July 2024. The NYSC has finalized arrangements to implement the new allowance, with full implementation expected by 2025.
In addition to the allowance increase, the NYSC has received a 32-seater bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company. This donation is intended to alleviate transportation challenges faced by corps members and NYSC staff within the Federal Capital Territory.
