Minna Police Foil Burglary: Hotel Raid Leads to Arrest of Ex-Convict and Two Armed Robbers
On January 4, 2025, the Niger State Police Command arrested three suspected armed robbers, including an ex-convict, in Minna.
The suspects were apprehended in a hotel along Eastern Bye-Pass, where they had lodged. During the arrest, police recovered three cutlasses and one industrial iron cutter, tools the suspects intended to use in committing crimes
The arrested individuals are:
- Jibrin Ndako, 19, from Barikin-Sale
- Haruna Abubakar, 20, from Angwan-Kamfani
- Aliyu Abdullahi, 18, from Kpakungu, Minna
During interrogation, Jibrin Ndako, who had recently completed a jail term for motorcycle theft, confessed that he recruited his accomplices from Agaie to join him in breaking into a provision store in Barikin-Sale, Minna. Their plans were foiled by the timely intervention of the police.
The suspects have been transferred to the State Police Headquarters in Minna for further investigation and prosecution.
