Ogbomoso Tragedy: Container Accident Claims Three Lives on Local Tricycle

On January 7, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria, when a container-laden truck lost control and fell onto a commercial tricycle, known locally as a “Keke Marwa,” at Takie Junction around 9:30 a.m. The accident resulted in the deaths of three individuals: the tricycle rider and two female passengers.

Eyewitnesses reported that the truck lost control while navigating a bend, causing the container to topple and crush the tricycle. Rescue efforts confirmed that all three victims died at the scene.

Authorities have initiated efforts to remove the container from the road to prevent further accidents and restore traffic flow in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the affected section of the road.
