Justice Served: Kano Court Orders Death Penalty for Armed Robber

A Kano State High Court, presided over by Justice Nasir Saminu, has sentenced Abdurrahman Yakubu to death by hanging for armed robbery.

Yakubu, hailing from Bele Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, was found guilty of multiple counts of armed robbery involving dangerous weapons. One of his victims, identified as Barrister Hajara Lawal Ahmad, was robbed of her car and an unspecified amount of money.

The court determined that the prosecution, led by government lawyer Barrister Umar Yakubu, had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt, leading to the dismissal of the defense’s arguments.

Additionally, the court noted that firearms recovered from Yakubu were illegal and had been used for criminal activities. Consequently, Justice Saminu pronounced the death sentence to be carried out by hanging.
