Breaking: Peter Obi Counters Arrest Rumors from Onitsha
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has refuted circulating rumors about his alleged arrest by security operatives.
In a statement posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on January 8, 2025, Obi labeled these claims as “entirely false” and confirmed that he is currently at his residence in Onitsha, Anambra State.
Obi expressed concern over the persistence of such unfounded reports, recalling a similar incident in September 2024 when false information alleged that the Department of State Services (DSS) had invaded his home while he was in Rwanda.
He urged the public not to be distracted by these baseless rumors and to remain focused on addressing the critical challenges facing the nation.
