Celebrity Encounter: Seyi Law Talks Sanwo-Olu’s Surprising Shun
Nigerian comedian and activist Seyi Law recently expressed frustration over perceived neglect by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, contrasting it with the governor’s public interactions with fellow comedian Mr. Macaroni.
Seyi Law remarked, “Sanwo-Olu will see me and act like he doesn’t know me but he will be begging Mr Macaroni for a handshake.”
This comment references a notable incident at Tony Elumelu’s all-white party in December 2023, where Governor Sanwo-Olu approached Mr. Macaroni, who initially appeared to overlook the governor.
In a viral video, Sanwo-Olu is heard saying, “So you won’t greet me?” prompting Mr. Macaroni to then acknowledge him with a handshake.
Mr. Macaroni, known for his activism during the #EndSARS protests, has been openly critical of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
He has stated that he will continue to snub the governor, citing personal experiences of being “stripped naked, beaten, tortured, brutalized, and dehumanized” by authorities, which he associates with the governor’s regime.
