Miami Heat and Conor McGregor Sued Over Alleged Incident During NBA Finals
In June 2023, Conor McGregor, the former UFC champion, faced serious allegations of sexual assault during the NBA Finals at the Kaseya Center in Miami. A woman accused McGregor of assaulting her in a men’s restroom during Game 4 between the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets.
The allegations also implicated the Miami Heat and the NBA, claiming that security personnel facilitated the encounter by separating the woman from her friend and restricting access to the restroom.
McGregor’s legal team denied the allegations, labeling them as “false” and asserting that McGregor would not be intimidated. The Miami Heat organization stated they were aware of the allegations and were conducting a full investigation in collaboration with the NBA. The Miami Police Department confirmed an open investigation into the incident.
The woman involved was represented by attorney Ariel Mitchell, who sent demand letters to McGregor, the NBA, and the Miami Heat, seeking settlements before potential lawsuits. Mitchell claimed that the woman had provided evidence, including clothing, to support her allegations.
