The Role of Leadership in Reconciliation: Insights from Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa on Kwankwaso and Ganduje
Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, the Chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Habitat and representative for Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency in Kano, has called for immediate reconciliation between former Kano State governors Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
He described their ongoing feud as “unfortunate and detrimental” to the progress of Kano State.
Jibrin emphasized the significant contributions both leaders have made to public service, noting their shared history of dedication to the state and the nation.
He urged well-meaning citizens to actively support reconciliation efforts, stating, “We will do our level best to ensure that they reconcile, no matter what.”
He also encouraged the two leaders to demonstrate goodwill by attending each other’s family events, regardless of their political differences. “Let us see Kwankwaso attending the wedding of Ganduje’s daughter and Ganduje attending the wedding of Kwankwaso’s son. Politics is their choice, but reconciliation is our duty,” he stated.
