Governor Adeleke’s Fresh Curfew: Implications for the Residents of Ifon-Ilobu
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has imposed a 7 pm to 7 am curfew on the Ifon and Ilobu communities, effective immediately, following renewed communal clashes.
The curfew aims to prevent further violence between the neighboring towns, which have experienced conflicts over land disputes.
The government has deployed security personnel, including the Army, Police, and Civil Defence, to maintain order.
An enlarged committee of stakeholders, comprising community representatives, service chiefs, and members of the State Council of Obas, will be constituted to seek a permanent resolution to the conflict.
Governor Adeleke emphasized that anyone found instigating further violence will face legal consequences.
