Katsina Hospital Incident: Bandit Attack Leaves Doctor Injured but Alive and Stable
On January 15, 2025, Kankara General Hospital in Katsina State was attacked by suspected bandits. During the incident, Dr. Murtala Sale Dandashire, a 30-year-old medical doctor and the best graduating student of the 2019 class from Ahmadu Bello University Medical School, was shot in the thigh.
Additionally, a 20-year-old individual, Kamala Suleiman, was also injured. The assailants abducted five other individuals before fleeing the scene.
The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that Dr. Dandashire and Mr. Suleiman are alive and receiving medical treatment. The police responded promptly to the attack, preventing further escalation.
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, condemned the attack and pledged to enhance security measures to protect residents and healthcare facilities.
