Port Harcourt Entertainer’s Murder: Cultists Caught Despite Ransom Paid
In a tragic incident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a popular comedian known as MC Dave, whose real name is David Uwakwe, was abducted by gunmen on September 14, 2023.
The assailants, disguised in police uniforms and wearing masks, kidnapped him around the Rumukalagbo area of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area. They later demanded a ransom of N25 million from his family.
Despite the payment of the ransom, the kidnappers failed to release MC Dave. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of five individuals connected to the crime.
The suspects, identified as members of a local cult group, confessed to the kidnapping and revealed that they had killed the entertainer shortly after his abduction. The Rivers State Police Command has since intensified efforts to apprehend other members of the gang still at large.
