Outrage in Imo: Woman Detained for Brutalizing Young Househelp
On January 21, 2025, Imo State Police arrested 35-year-old businesswoman Edith Nwachukwu for assaulting her 13-year-old house help, Kelechi Ejieke, at Relief Market in Owerri.
Nwachukwu accused Ejieke of stealing her money and subjected her to severe physical punishment, resulting in significant injuries.
Concerned traders intervened, rescuing the girl and notifying the police.
The victim received medical attention, and Nwachukwu is currently detained as investigations proceed.
