Violence in Kano: NDLEA Officer St@bbed During Drug Dealer Arrest
On January 20, 2025, during a targeted operation at Rahama Roundabout in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested two suspects: Musa Usman, 25, and Buhari Ya’u Bashir, 24.
The operation led to the seizure of 1.1 kilograms of cannabis sativa, eight grams (38 tablets) of diazepam, and 59 grams (165 tablets) of Exol.
During the arrest, Musa Usman, armed with a dagger, attempted to resist and stabbed an NDLEA officer, causing injury. The injured officer received prompt medical attention.
The Kano State Commander of the NDLEA, Abubakar Idris Ahmad, condemned the attack, stating that such actions would not deter the agency from its mission to eradicate drug abuse and trafficking. Both suspects are in custody and will face charges related to drug offenses and assaulting a law enforcement officer.
