Jabrill Peppers in Hot Water: Details on Cocaine Plea and Upcoming Domestic Violence Trial
New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers pleaded guilty to cocaine possession on January 23, 2025, in a Massachusetts courtroom.
This plea occurred just before the commencement of his trial on domestic violence charges, which include assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and strangulation.
The charges stem from an October 2024 incident at Peppers’ Braintree residence, where he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend by hitting, choking, and pushing her down a flight of stairs.
During his booking, authorities discovered a plastic bag containing cocaine in his wallet, to which Peppers admitted possession.
Following his arrest, Peppers was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list, causing him to miss seven games in the 2024 season. He was reinstated in late November 2024 and returned to the field toward the end of the season.
As part of his probation for the drug charge, Peppers is required to remain drug-free, with regular screenings conducted by the NFL’s substance abuse program.
Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Peppers remains on the Patriots’ roster. His current contract extends through 2027.
The trial for the domestic violence charges is currently underway, with the alleged victim providing testimony.
