Why the Oshodi Pedestrian Bridge in Lagos is Closing: Details and Implications
The Lagos State Government has ordered the immediate closure of the pedestrian bridge located between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 in the Oshodi Bus Terminal due to concerns regarding its structural integrity.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, announced that the contractor responsible for the terminal’s initial construction has been directed to place concrete barriers at the bridge’s entrances to ensure public safety.
A comprehensive structural integrity assessment will be conducted to determine the necessary repairs or reconstruction. In the meantime, pedestrians are advised to use an alternative bridge situated approximately 30 meters away.
