Fatal Accident: Kano Woman Dies After Well Fall
A tragic incident occurred on Friday, January 24, 2025, in Danbare, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, where a young woman lost her life after falling into a well. The Kano State Fire Service received an emergency call at 9:24 am from a resident, Bashir Salisu, reporting the incident. The rescue team arrived promptly at the scene by 9:32 am.
The victim, who had been struggling with anxiety and mental illness, was pulled out of the well unconscious and was later confirmed dead by her family.
This unfortunate event highlights the recurring issue of individuals accidentally falling into wells in Kano State. In a similar incident last week, a 50-year-old well digger, Yusuf Nadabo, lost his life while re-digging a partially blocked well in Gargajiga town, Minjibir Local Government Area. The walls of the well collapsed, covering him with sand.
