Lagos Abduction: Arrests Made in Police Commissioner’s Wife Case
The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended two additional suspects in connection with the abduction of Mrs. Folashade Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu. The suspects, identified as Agbojule Smart, 27, and Keleke Michael, 30, were arrested in the early hours of January 24, 2025, while attempting to flee Lagos State.
Upon their arrest, the police recovered ₦2,250,000, believed to be part of the ransom, along with two locally fabricated rifles and 11 live cartridges. The suspects confessed to being part of a four-member gang responsible for the kidnapping; the other two members had previously been neutralized by law enforcement.
Mrs. Odumosu was abducted on January 16, 2025, at the entrance of her residence in the Arepo area of Lagos. She was rescued by police operatives on January 23, 2025.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the officers for their efforts and urged them to maintain high standards in combating crime. The police reiterated their commitment to public safety and the security of citizens across the nation.
