Renowned Nigerian comic singer Mukaila Senwele, born Omotosho Ayinla, has passed away. A family source confirmed that the artist, originally from Ilorin West Local Government Area in Kwara State, died on Friday night.
Known for his captivating performances and distinctive entertainment style, Senwele was particularly famous for his iconic catchphrase, “Koni da fun ebo to se costay.” He was a prominent figure in the Lagos entertainment scene and had a significant following among socialites.
According to reports, Senwele showed no signs of illness prior to his sudden passing. He spent the day engaging with fans and had plans to visit his family house later in the evening. Tragically, he was later found unresponsive and, despite efforts to rush him to the hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival.
Nollywood actress Toyin Adegbola, popularly known as Toyin Tomato, mourned his passing on social media, noting that Senwele had performed at her parents’ remembrance party in December 2024. Fans and colleagues have also expressed their condolences, highlighting the significant impact he had on the entertainment industry.
