The Gender Debate: President Ruto Aligns with Trump’s Vision of Traditional Roles
On January 26, 2025, Kenyan President William Ruto publicly endorsed U.S. President Donald Trump’s executive order recognizing only two genders—male and female.
Speaking at a church service in Nairobi, President Ruto stated, “As a leading democracy, we have come to understand that the policy direction of the United States supports what we believe in: that boys must remain boys, men must remain men, women must remain women, and girls must remain girls.”
This endorsement aligns with Kenya’s cultural and religious values, as emphasized by President Ruto. He further expressed gratitude, stating, “We thank God that this year, the very first news from the United States in the new administration is to confirm what the Bible says, what our faith believes, and what our tradition firmly is grounded on.”
President Ruto also highlighted the strong ties between Kenya and the United States, noting, “The USA is a blessing to our nation, and we work together in many aspects.”
