Exploring Minister Tuggar’s Call for More International Trips by Tinubu
Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar has defended President Bola Tinubu’s frequent international travels, emphasizing their importance for Nigeria’s growth and global standing. He stated that as a new administration, it is essential for President Tinubu to engage with fellow heads of state to establish relationships and secure investments.
Tuggar highlighted the benefits of these trips, citing a $2 billion investment secured during a visit to Brazil. He further asserted that Nigeria has the financial resources to support such diplomatic engagements, suggesting that the costs are outweighed by the potential benefits.
In the first 19 months of his tenure, President Tinubu has undertaken 32 foreign trips, visiting 19 countries.
Tuggar’s comments underscore the administration’s commitment to strengthening international relations and attracting foreign investments to Nigeria.
