Forgery Charges: Lagos Attorney Accused in Loan Document Case
On January 22, 2025, the Lagos State Police Command arrested a legal practitioner, identified as Onuoha, for allegedly forging documents to secure a bank loan.
The arrest took place in Ikorodu, Lagos. According to reports, Onuoha is accused of forging a lease agreement for a property in Teachers’ Estate, Ikorodu, which she reportedly submitted to the Bank of Industry as part of a loan application for her pure water production business.
The Special Fraud Unit (SFU) initiated the investigation in June 2024 following a complaint about the alleged forgery. Despite multiple invitations to respond to the allegations, Onuoha reportedly failed to honor the summons. Law enforcement officers eventually tracked her down to Ikorodu, where she was apprehended.
During the arrest, Onuoha reportedly attempted to evade capture by seeking refuge in a court premises but was intercepted by security personnel at the court’s gate. She was eventually apprehended along a nearby road around 7:30 p.m.
