Marriage Registrations Thriving: FG’s N2.4b Income Achievement in 2024
In 2024, the Nigerian Federal Government generated approximately ₦2.4 billion from marriage contracts via its marriage registry at the Ministry of Interior.
This revenue stream has become a significant source of income for the ministry, surpassing its projected revenue from marriage contracts in 2023, which amounted to over ₦892 million as of October 31, 2023.
Additionally, the ministry reported generating over ₦3.2 billion from expatriate quota applications in 2024, marking a 150% increase in overall revenue.
