Breaking News: Police Rescue Abducted 25-Year-Old Woman from Infamous ‘Father’ in Cross River
On January 28, 2025, the Cross River State Police Command successfully rescued 25-year-old Faith ‘Mercury’ Edu, who had been abducted and brutalized by a notorious kingpin known as “Father.”
Edu was kidnapped on January 21, 2025, by Michael Aboko, alias ‘Father’, and endured a week of captivity and abuse before her rescue. The police’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad located and freed her at approximately midnight on Edem Street, off Garden Street, in Calabar South. Following her ordeal, Edu is currently receiving medical attention, while authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
Edu, a graduate of Banking and Finance from the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna, managed to raise an alarm about her abduction by posting a brief video on her Facebook page, describing her location and calling for help. This act of bravery provided crucial information that aided in her timely rescue.
