Kano Police Take Action Against Constabulary Amid Extortion Allegations
The Kano State Police Command has dismissed Constabulary Officer Ado Abba for engaging in unauthorized stop-and-search operations and extorting money from motorists and other road users.
Following multiple public complaints, an investigation confirmed his misconduct, leading to his immediate dismissal. The Command has also confiscated his uniform and warned that any further unauthorized police activities by Abba will result in arrest and prosecution.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s spokesperson, emphasized the importance of integrity among officers and encouraged the public to report any instances of misconduct.
